Russian Ivan-Tea black

Russian Ivan-Tea (Willow-herb), black tea

A Russian alternative to your typical black loose-leaf tea.

This traditional tea is made following a classical recipe using a special fermentation technology. Russian people believe in the healing properties of Ivan-Tea, and that it can contribute to a healthy longevity, and help you recharge your batteries and regain your strength, improve your spirits, and maintain a bright mind.

Back in the olden days, when this land was still known by its ancient name of Rus', people would traditionally start their day by brewing Ivan-Tea, and all people, old and young, preferred it to the imported tea varieties. Its healing properties were legendary, as was its taste. The same magnificent taste that continues to impress and win over the hearts of those who value high-quality organic products to this day. We proudly invite you to try this traditional Russian tea.

Russian Ivan-Tea (Epilobium angustifolium) indeed possesses some truly unique healing properties. The leaves that we use to produce our teas contain plentiful bioactive compounds, tannins, mucilaginous elements, organic acids, coumarins, flavonoids, iron, B vitamins, and vitamin C (and its levels are three times higher than the levels of vitamin C in lemons). Ivan-Tea does not contain any caffeine. Most importantly though it has a delicate taste with tender notes of dried fruit, a delicious aroma, and the same shade of colour as your typical tea.

Ivan-Tea is an excellent drink that will quench your thirst, heal your body, and help you recuperate your strength and recharge your batteries after a long day at work. It also boosts male libido, and is also recommended as a means to bolster one's immune system and resistance to various infections.

Thanks to its lack of caffeine and the high level of valuable bioactive compounds, Ivan-Tea has almost zero side effects, except rare cases of individual allergies or idiosyncrasy. It is suitable for people of all ages, old and young, and there are no side effects for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

How to brew Russian Ivan-Tea?

First, rinse your teapot with hot boiling water. Use 1 - 2 tbsp of loose-leaf Ivan-Tea for 1 litre of water, pour in the boiling water until about 1/3 of the leaves are submerged, shake gently, then drain the water from the teapot. This way you will have steamed the tea, which will now produce a stronger and more fragrant aroma. Then pour in fresh water brought to rolling boil, and leave the tea to infuse for 5 minutes. What is interesting to note is that the same leaves can be brewed up to five times, without losing any of their taste or aroma, or any of their healing properties. This tea can also be served as a cold drink. Instead of sugar, it's best to serve it with dried figs or apricots, raisins, dates, or honey.

100% organic, no artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives added.
